 MIRI BEN-ARI TO SPEAK AT THE UNITED NATIONS, PARTICIPATE AND PERFORM IN THE SOUTH-SOUTH AWARDS ON SEPTEMBER 19 IN NYC. 
THE SOUTH SOUTH AWARDS  WILL HONOR HEADS OF STATES, CELEBRITIES AND PRIVATE SECTOR ADVANCING WOMEN AND CHILDREN’S HEALTH

On September 8, 2011 Miri Ben-Ari spoke at the United Nations about her participation in the South South Awards. The theme of the South-South Awards will be “Digital Health for Digital Development,” recognizing outstanding innovations and applications of Information and Communication Technologies. The event will be hosted by the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, and South-South News. The event will feature special performances by Grammy Award-winning artists Kenny G, Roberta Flack and Miri Ben-Ari among others.

Miri Ben-Ari to perform at the Pre-Dedication ceremony of the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial, Aug. 28, West Potomac Park, Washington D.C.

On behalf of the MLK Foundation, Miri produced a unique masterpiece and the only hip-hop segment in this musical tribute, to capture the historic events of the 1955 Montgomery Bus Boycott. Miri's performance is scheduled an hour before President Barack Obama delivers his remarks.

Tens of thousands of people, including members of the King family and prominent civil rights leaders are expected to be in our nation’s capital to honor the vision, service, and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther ing, Jr.

We are pleased to announce that Grammy Award-Winning artist, Miri Ben-Ari, also known as the hip-hop violinist, has been invited by First Lady Michelle Obama to perform at the annual celebration of Women’s History Month on Wednesday, March 30th 2011. Mrs. Obama brought together accomplished women from a wide variety of fields and backgrounds to serve as “Remarkable Women” mentors and share their life experiences with the students from the Washington, D.C. area.

Only 25 of America’s most distinguished women have been selected to join Mrs. Obama including Miri Ben-Ari, in her day long tour to a Washington, D.C. area high school to talk, share, inspire and encourage young women to go after their dreams.
 

 

THE AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR YAD VASHEM IS HONORING Miri Ben-Ari

 

 

Miri Ben-Ari was presented her with the American Society for Yad Vashem Young Leadership Associates Remembrance Award in recognition of her work on behalf of Holocaust remembrance. Over 500 people attended the American Society for Yad VashemYoung LeadershipAssociates Annual Gala on March 24th, 2011. The event showcased the work of the Young Leadership Associates of the American Society for Yad Vashem. Proceeds from this event were donated to education programs sponsored by this group.

MIRI BEN-ARI TO RECEIVE A SPECIAL MLK COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD & PERFORM SYMPHONY OF BROTHERHOOD

 

Reverend Al Sharpton and the National Action Network (NAN) will host the12th Annual Keepers of the Dream Awards Thursday, April 15th at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers. The awards, given each year in April to mark the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s death, honor those who have continued to advocate for the principles for which Dr. King gave his life. The Keepers of the Dream awards are given by members of the civil rights community who have committed themselves to fairness and racial harmony.

The evening will be hosted by Tamron Hall from MSNBC and the Keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Bill Cosby. Among this year's honorees are: Mariah Carey, world renowned entertainer; Wyclef Jean, humanitarian and internationally acclaimed musician; Jeff Zucker, President and CEO of NBC Universal; Bishop Charles E. Blake from the Church of God and Christ; Dr. Robert M. Franklin, President Morehouse College; Kimberly B. Davis, President JPMorganChase Foundation; Johnny Furr, Jr., Anheuser-Busch; The Home Depot; and DeMaurice Smith, Executive Director of the National Football League Players' Association.

This year's event will include special appearances by the legendary music group the Roots and Grammy-award winning violinist Miri Ben-Ari who will perform her single "Symphony of Brotherhood, featuring the Dream speech of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.--the first instrumental single ever to hit on Billboards R&B/Hip Hop charts, MTV and VH1. Ben-Ari will also receive a special Community Service Award by Reverend Al Sharpton.
